NO COMPARISONS

The Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has said that he does not want to be compared with the former Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson, who is currently the manager of the England national team. Liverpool were left with just 25 points on the board after the recent 3-1 defeat at the hands of Stoke City.

This meant that Liverpool have the same number of points after 19 games as they have when Roy Hodgson was in charge of the team. This ultimately led to the sacking of Hodgson, who was replaced by Kenny Dalglish. However, there is a feeling around Anfield that Brendan Rodgers will be getting more time because he was signed by the current owners.

Rodgers has also said that he does not want to be compared with Hodgson, who has since went on to manage West Brom and currently the England national team. Rodgers has also praised the backing he has received from the supporters, which is extremely important for him. He has also said that comparison between the two managers is not ideal because there is a vast difference in terms of the squad. Regarding the transfer activity for the club in January, Rodgers choose to remain tight-lipped over the situation. Liverpool have been linked with a £ 12 million move for the Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge.

"I have been brought in here to do a job and the owners have been brilliant with me. I don't think about them [the comparisons] to be honest, it is not something I am overly worried about. The backing I've had from supporters has been incredible considering and that is the most important group really.They recognise what is going on, they understand like I would understand the frustration," said the Liverpool manager, whose team will be facing QPR in the final Premier league match of 2012.
